Unfortunately, no matter how effective your acne treatment is, they can never cure acne overnight. In the meantime, you need to know how to effectively cover up spots to give you that much-needed confidence booster.
Here are some simple tips to magically make spots disappear instantly.
Step One: Wash Your Face
It is incredibly important that you wash your face thoroughly with a natural acne face wash and warm water. If you do not do this you will only be applying makeup on top of grease and dirt which will only lead to an acne breakout.
When you initially begin to wash your face, use warm water. This will open up your pores ready for the facial wash to get in and clear out ant clogged pores. After you have rinsed away the face wash, splash your face with cold water. Not only is this incredibly refreshing and a great way to wake yourself up in the morning, but it also closes your pores. This is very important because it prevents any moisturizer or makeup that you apply next, from blocking any pores.
Step Two: Gently Pat Your Face Dry
Make sure you are gentle with your skin at this stage as you do not want to irritate your skin, make it flare up, or open up the pores.
It is best to pat your face dry with a clean towel or cotton wool.
Step Three: Moisturise
Now it is time to apply a non-greasy natural moisturizer. This will make your face feel soft and silky and prevent any dry patched form from appearing.
Step Four: Apply a Thin Layer of Acne Treatment
This is a great idea to do before you apply your foundation. This way you allow the ace treatment to work throughout the day whilst at work.
Step Five: Apply Your Foundation
It is important that you use an oil-free foundation. I personally use Estée Lauder double wear. It is reasonably priced, not the cheapest but it does last for about 6 months. I recommend this make as it is oil-free, never has made my acne worse or come back, and has great coverage but without making you look caked in makeup.
Step Six: Concealer
After you have applied your foundation, if you can still see a few blemishes, then it is time to dab on a little concealer. There are some really great concealers out there but once again I recommend Estée Lauder double wear concealer. Not only because it is an exact match with my foundation, but I have great coverage and stays put.
Remember, when applying foundation and concealer, you must have washed your hands and fingertips thoroughly beforehand, to prevent and dirt or oil transfer.
